What The F word this memes all about?
They are a memes mocking the ads for the mobile game "Mafia City". The ads look terrible, and so people started making memes about it.
A mobile gaming company released a mobile game called "Mafia City" or something. Together with the game they launched an online ad campaign with ridiculous video ads showing different scenarios of the game.
One of these kinds of scenario shows a new (and so level 1) player with the tag "crook", aka the default tag for level 1 killing or mobbing or doing something that involves gaining money and becoming a higher level and so getting a new tag like "LVL 10, hitman".
Though actually it was originated from a smaller you-tuber named slazo who made a video showcasing these awful ads.
PewDiePie, YouTube’s largest channel, regularly makes meme review videos. However last week, he made a video on Mobile Game Ads.
That video was called Meme Awards 2018, during the Awards he went on a segment about how stupid the Mafia City ads were and how they didn’t make sense, mocking them.
These memes became popular because of how bad they were and then the mighty memelord Pewdiepie promoted them on his YouTube channel.

Sometimes the scene is followed by a white bearded man saying "This is how mafia works" or something like that, implying that the game is based on that kind of violence/gaining money.
